Les Miserables is a movie about people with miserable lives. Each of them has a unique story that portrays why their lives are miserable.

The sacrifices and pains of the lead characters in this movie are intense and breathtaking. Jean Valjean is a convict in a French prison. Javert a police inspector is keen enough to hover over prisoner. It is the story of the poor Jean Valjean, condemned to an unfair amount of time in prison and a life on the run for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family.

Jean Valjean began the story as an ex-convict who was searching for food and shelter after working in the galleys for sixteen years.

Unfortunately, he failed to receive compassion from any lodging, or home. While he was wandering through the streets. Les Miserables at its core is a story of love, compassion, and having hope within our darkest moments and that there is always redemption in forgiveness. The story lacks the softness one thinks of with those words and is told in a dark, gritty, and sometimes heartbreaking way.
